Esther's Blessing on Finding Our True Name

girl dressed as princess brandishing a sword

between a myrtle and a star,

i choose to envision woman as a calendar day,

savvy enough to observe her place in the universe

and radical enough to serve the creation of a new world

and break slavery's chain.

we are worth more than every title and role assigned.

and when we choose our life and call out our true name, we master time, becoming the ultimate maker of our fate.

each of us has the power
to be a woman,
to be a human being
to decide
and to accept nothing less.
