PTSD in a Time of Omicron

Merciful One,
Ribbono Shel Olam,
Do You hear my cries?

No…
Not this…
Not again…

A once-in-a-lifetime occurrence
On repeat.
Waves of isolation
Battering our homes.

No.
Not this.
Not again.

This time I’m stronger.
This time I know better.
This time I’m prepared.

Still broken from the years,
I need help.
The help of others, friends and strangers.
I need luck.
A Divine smile, a nudge to get me going.

Ribbono Shel Olam,
Merciful One,
Let me see my role
In this grand Divine symphony.

Let me see my actions
As part of the whole.
Let me have the strength
To act with You.

To act with my human family
To say,
No. Not this. Not again.

No.
This time stronger.
Again, we need each other.

Amen
