Prayer for Grappling with U.S. Health Insurance

God of the Fire Within
I seek you out
As anger makes my body shake
As tears well in my eyes
As fear builds in my heart
Because I cannot get the care I need.

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses.
This is the promise of America,
The promise of hope.
I sit before You
Tired of fighting
Tired of paying
Tired of being tossed aside
Yearning to breathe in the promise of collective care.

God of the Fire Within,
Let the fire within me
Blaze not for destruction,
As Yours has so often done,
But for progress, justice, and change.
Help me find my voice to fight for my needs
And the needs of others.

Support us in building a world
Where affordable, quality health care and insurance
Is the norm and not the exception.
May these be the principles
That flow across the land
From sea to shining sea.
