15th Anniversary ''Thanks for the Chair!'' Tambourine
Ritualwell is celebrating the 15th anniversary of artist Betsy Platkin Teutsch’s first tambourine! This tambourine was created to honor and support the women who fight for the right to pray and read Torah at the Western Wall, a struggle that continues today.
In the Jewish tradition, an empty chair signifies both the absence and the desired presence of someone important. This tambourine depicts the prophet Miriam leading the women of Israel in song, prayer and celebration at the Wall. We look forward to the day when all people have the right to sing and pray at this holy site.
This tambourine is offered exclusively through Ritualwell until the end of January 2013. All proceeds will support the ongoing work of Ritualwell.
