Found In: Covenant & Naming Rituals
Naming our children is one of the most powerful things we do; in bestowing a name, we bestow hopes, values, and a sense of history. Traditionally, Ashkenazic Jews (from Eastern and Central Europe) name children after deceased relatives; Sephardic Jews (from Spain and North Africa) name children after living relatives. There are many "Jewish" names — biblical, talmudic, and modern Israeli, to name a few.
